Use Case · Trophies
SLAA trophy shaped around your event or brand is far more memorable than an off-the-shelf one. A smooth surface usually matters, so we generally recommend printing in resin and painting.
Quick answer
Custom trophies and keepsakes are usually printed in smooth SLA Standard resin and painted gold or silver; for larger quantities, silk PLA gives a metallic look without painting. Make the base at least half as wide as the trophy is tall so it doesn’t tip over.

Glossy silk PLA looks metallic without paint, which suits larger keepsake runs.
General tendencies on a 5-point scale. Real results depend on geometry, size and material.
Make the base wide and heavy so it does not tip over; at least half the height in width is a good rule.
Print winner names on a separate plate or engrave them so each piece is easy to personalize.
Print tall trophies as body and base separately to reduce support marks.
If the event date is fixed, order early enough to cover painting and finishing.
